    Hi, Cliff and Father Roderick, glad to hear you're doing so well with your May 23 goals. Here is my update: I pledged to lose 8 pounds and as of today, May 19 I have lost 5.8. I am absolutely doctor-supervised and losing in an extremely healthy way.

    Incidentally, I really appreciated your remarks about planning to do the impossible. You CAN set goals that are not realistic. There seem to be so many rules about how to do weight loss – find what works for you. Another example – “diet” is not a dirty word – I'm not on a lifestyle change, I'm on a diet. I'd be insane to do this for the rest of my life! The diet will morph into maintenance and that is what I will stick to permanently.

    Anyway, good luck with the rest of your plans and my advice for your busy weekend of Lost festivities is to drink your water.
